13th BELVOIR CHALLENGE

26 or 15 miles in 10 hrs.

Route from Harby Primary School, nr Melton Mowbray, following footpaths,
bridleways, tracks and minor roads.
An undulating scenic route in and around the Belvoir Escarpment in NE Leics,
Vale of Belvoir.
Start 9 am.
Entry £9, 15 mile £7 (£3 extra on the day),
inc refreshments on route, rescue from checkpoints, hot meal at finish, & cetificates to all who complete the event.
Please check on day entries.

GRINDLEFORD GALLOP

21 miles in 10 hours.
A varied circular route from Bishops Pavilion, Grindleford )S199 GR244778 with 1500' of ascent.
The route takes in the limestone White Peak, gritstone edges and Chatsworth Park.
Walkers rolling start 7-10 am (runners mass start 10 am)
Entry £6 (£7 on the day if places available to 400 limit) inc. certificate, hot and cold drinks and snacks on route, hot meal (veg alternative) at finish.
Organised by Grindleford Primary School PTA.

CHARNWOOD MARATHON

27 or 15 miles in 10 hours from Quorn Village Hall. A good scenic route in North Leicestershire mainly on footpaths and tracks. Route change agreed. Start 8 am, runners 9am. Entry £6.50 (£7 on the day) for both routes including drinks at the start, cakes and drinks on route, hot food at finish and certificate for all finishes. Proceeds to Menphys & Rainbow Charities. PEAK DISTRICT CHALLENGE

Start 0900, Sheldon Village Hall, near Bakewell.
£10, including: certificate, food and souvenirs of the day. All proceeds will go to the Corps of Drums to aid funding for new instruments and uniforms. The CAYTHORPE CANTER

The route will follow tracks, footpaths and minor roads on part of the Trent Valley and Limestone Ridge, using parts of the
VIKING WAY
Club open from 7.30 am, start 8.30 am.
Entry £6(£7 on the day), including detailed route description, good homemade food on route, at end and certificate for all finishers.

Ample car parking on playing field.
Changing facilities, showers and bar open all day.

MAJOR OAK WALK
26, 12 or 6 miles.
All circular routes from Royal Oak PH, Edwinstowe, Notts. OS 120, GR 627668.
Routes will follow forestry tracks with minimal minor road walking. All routes pass the Major Oak & Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre. The long route goes via Clumber Park to Cresswell Crags. Start 7.30-8.30am 26 mile, 8.30-11am 12 mile, 9.30-12.30 6 mile. All routes to finish by 5.30pm. Entry £1 (£3 with patch award) including drinks and biscuits at checkpoints, & certificate.
A fairly level walk with comprehensive route description issued at the start. No route markers, but a lot of the routes follow parts of the
ROBIN HOOD WAY
which is waymarked.

A White Peak circular route, passing through Monsal, Bakewell, Chatsworth, Baslow Edge & Grindleford. 36 miles also includes Monyash, Over Haddon & Higger Tor.
Start 8 am.
Entry £5.50 LDWA & Scouts, others £6 (after 12 May £6.50 & £7) including drinks at checkpoints, summer snack at finish, certificate and event report.
Badge available for completion within 12 hours.
Limit 300.

Circular from Monyash, GR 152664, round the beautiful hills and dales of the White Peak, with 3500' of ascent.

Individual trophies awarded to man, woman, veteran man, veteran woman and fastest scout/guide/youth club team
Hot food at finish.
Organised by the Monyash White Peak Committee.

28th BULLOCK SMITHY HIKE

56 miles in 24 hours. Circular route from Hazel Grove Scout HQ, Stockport, Cheshire, GR 925862, inc 7000' of ascent round Buxton in the Peak District. Start 12 noon. Entry £13 including some light refreshments and drinks at most checkpoints. Meal at finish. Certificate and results booklet. Suggested route description. Participants have to navigate between 14 checkpoints. Organised by the 3rd Hazel Grove Scout Group.

THE WALESBY WALK

A varied walk through countryside, heathland and forest including Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park. Start 10am, registration from 8:30 am. Entry £5, £4 14 miles, £2 8miles. £1 reduction on pre-booked entries for 25 and 14 mile walks. Ample checkpoints with water on route. Badge and certificate. 25 miles in 11 hours from Baslow Village Hall. GR 252723, in the White/Dark Peak District, 1 mile from Chatsworth House. The walk is set in the National Park, has 3,500' of ascent, finishing through Chatsworth Park. Start 8:30am. entry £12 including drinks on route, a pie and pea supper at the finish, badge and certificate. Entry limit 300. No entrants under 16, 16-17 only if accompanied by parent/guardian or other persons similarly responsible under the Children's Act.

Start 8am (runners 9am). Entry £5, non LDWA £6 (£6/£7 on the day only if places are available), including refreshments at most checkpoints on route, certificate on completion and excellent meal at finish. Badge £1 extra. Entrants must carry/wear waterproofs, map: WP24, compass, mug, torch & whistle. Overnight sleeping arranged at £2 per person on Friday night 8 Nov.
